This coin was minted between 103-76 B.C. under king Alexander Jannaeus, one of the last Jewish kings before the Roman annexation of Judaea. Made from an ancient bronze alloy, with amazing details even after 2000 years.
Coin diameter is 16.5 mm, very fine VF condition. On the reverse depicting an 8-ray star. The other side shows an anchor within a circle, the symbol of heaven. Beautiful green and brown patina, built up over the millenia.
Safely held by a four prong setting, made from bronze. The bail will accommodate chains up to 3 mm in diameter.
