This beautifully struck coin was minted in the 4th century BC in Amisos, a Greek city on the Black Sea coast, in the Kingdom of Pontus. This coin is about 2400 years old, and being made from the finest silver, it lasted during the centuries. The obverse of the coin depicts Hera, queen of the gods, facing left, wearing necklace and earring. The reverse depicts and owl, standing with wings spread on a shield, ΠEIΡA below. AR drachm coin with 18mm in diameter, weighing 5.74 grams.
