This coin is an authentic old-style Athena owl coin, minted in the 3rd century BC in Athens, Greece. Being made from the finest Greek silver, they lasted during the millennia.
Tetradrachma coin size, slightly elongated shape, average 22mm in diameter, weighing 16.86 grams.
The obverse depicts Athena's head wearing Attic helmet right, decorated with three olive leaves and a palmette with necklace and earrings.
On the reverse Owl standing right, head facing; behind, an olive branch and a crescent; all in the remains of a hollow square.
Extremely fine condition.

These coins funded the building of the Acropolis and Parthenon in Athens, as well as funding the Peloponnesian War (431 - 404 BC) between Athens and Sparta.
