This coin was minted between 103-76 B.C. under king Alexander Jannaeus, one of the last Jewish kings before the Roman annexation of Judaea. Made from an ancient bronze alloy and with a rich patina, built up over the centuries. Partially lifted to reveal the motif. The coin depicts an 8-ray star. The other side shows an anchor within a circle. Very fine condition, 14.2mm in diameter.
The coin is safely held by a handmade four prong sterling silver setting, matte finish. Bail opening is 4.5mm.
