This coin was minted in Central Gaul (nowadays the area of western Europe), by the Gallic tribe Bituriges Cubi approx. in the 1st century BC. The Celtic tribe 'forged' this coin after a quinarius coin from the Roman Empire. It depicts a prancing horse with a sword above and pentagram below. The other side shows a bare male head. The coin itself is made from an ancient silver alloy, 15.5mm in diameter. Original patina on both sides. Extremely fine condition.
Safely held by a four prong setting, handmade from solid 14k yellow gold and polished to a nice shine. Bail opening is 4mm.
