This particular coin was minted under Philip IV (1621-1665), King of Spain. Minted in Potosi/ Bolivia, at that time a Spanish colony in South America. Coin weight is 19 grams.
Both the Habsburg shield on the obverse and the cross on the reverse are recognizable, even after the coin being in the ocean for 400 years.
This coin was sea salvaged by Mel Fisher in 1986 and comes with the Certificate of Authenticity issued and signed by Daniel Frank Sedwick.
The coin is set in a hand crafted setting, made from solid 18k gold. Bail opening is 6.5mm. Hallmarked with 18k.
