Center of this ring is a dark welo opal. Earth mined in Ethiopia this gem has been smoke treated to achieve the dark body color. Contrasted by green, red and orange color play in a 'honeycomb' pattern (the rarest of all opal color patterns). The oval gemstone measures 12.5x8mm with 3.1 carats weight. A clean cabochon with a polished surface. Safely set in a closed bezel setting, made from solid 14k gold.

The ring band is made from sterling silver. Silver dust has been fused to the surface in a random pattern. Adorned with 14k gold accents. The band is 26.5mm (1.04 inches) wide at the center and tapers to a comfortable 5.5mm on the bottom. Hallmarked with 14k and 925. Thoroughly rounded edges ensure comfort while wearing the ring.
